When the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution, he would sometimes wash each organ of the organs of ablution once - washing the face - including rinsing the mouth and sniffing water into the nostrils - and the hands and feet once. This is the due amount.

• It is obligatory to wash the body parts of ablution once. However, exceeding that is recommended.
• It is permissible to sometimes wash the body parts of ablution once.
• Wiping over the head once is prescribed in the sunnah.

• This is how the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution
• The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to perform Ghusl (ritual bath) from Janābah (major ritual impurity) using one Sā‘ of water, and he would perform Wudū’ (ablution) with one Mudd
• The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution and passed a wet hand on his forelock, over the turban, and over the two leather socks
• The prayer of a person who does not perform ablution is invalid, and the ablution of a person who does not mention the name of Allah is invalid
