The Prophet (ﷺ) encouraged Muslims to exchange gifts with one another, for gifts are among the causes of love and bringing hearts together.

• It is recommended to give gifts, because the Prophet (ﷺ) commanded it.
• A gift is a cause of love.
• A person should do everything that brings about affection between himself and others—whether through giving gifts, being gentle in manner, speaking kindly, or showing a cheerful face—as much as he can.

• A woman came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) with a woven mantle
• The Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) decreed that the lifelong gift is for the one to whom it was given
• Loyalty is pledged to the one who did the favor
• Do not buy it back and do not take back your charity, even if he gives it to you for one dirham, for the one who takes back his gift is like the one who takes back his vomit
