‘Uqbah ibn ‘Āmir (may Allah be pleased with him) informed that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Allah revealed to me tonight verses, the like of which have never been seen—meaning in seeking refuge— and they are the two Mu‘awwidhats: Surat al-Falaq and Surat an-Nās.

• Pointing out the great merit of these two Surahs.
• Encouraging seeking refuge with them from all evils.

• While a man was reciting Sūrat al-Kahf, with his horse tied with two ropes beside him
• Have you not seen that some verses were revealed (to me) tonight the like of which has never been seen before? They are: {Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of the daybreak} and {Say: I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind}
• Do not turn your houses into graves. Indeed, Satan runs away from the house in which Surat al-Baqarah is recited
• The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) appointed a man in charge of an army unit who led them in prayer; he always concluded his recitation with Sūrat al-Ikhlās
