When the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution, he would sometimes wash each body part of the parts of ablution once - washing the face - including rinsing the mouth and sniffing water into the nostrils - and the hands and feet twice.

• It is obligatory to wash the body parts of ablution at least once. However, more than once is recommended.
• It is permissible to sometimes wash the body parts of ablution twice.
• It is prescribed to wipe over the head once.

• Beware of negnot washing your heels properly, for not doing so can lead to them being burnt in the Hellfire! So, perform your ablution thoroughly
• The prayer of a person who does not perform ablution is invalid, and the ablution of a person who does not mention the name of Allah is invalid
• The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to take a ritual bath with one Sā‘ up to five Mudds, and he used to perform ablution with one Mudd
• Two-thirds of a Mudd were brought to the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and he began rubbing his arm
