The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) invoked the curse, expulsion, and removal from the mercy of Allah Almighty upon four categories: First: A woman who adds hair extensions for herself or for another. Second: A woman who asks for hair extensions to be added to her hair. Third: The one who tattoos, which involves piercing the skin with a needle in a part of the body, such as the face, hand, or chest, and inserting kohl or similar substances into it until it leaves a bluish or greenish mark, seeking adornment and beauty. Fourth: The one who asks to be tattooed. Such acts are from the major sins.

• Ibn Hajar said: What is prohibited in this regard is attaching hair to hair. However, if she attaches her hair with something other than hair, such as a piece of cloth or similar material, it does not fall under the prohibition.
• Cooperation in sin is prohibited.
• The prohibition of altering the creation of Allah, as it constitutes falsification and deceit.
• It is permissible to curse whoever is cursed by Allah and His Messenger, but in a general manner.
• Wearing wigs is included in the prohibited use of hair extensions in our time. It is prohibited considering the imitation of disbelievers and the deceit and fraud involved.
• Al-Khattābi said: The severe warning regarding these matters was mentioned because they involve deceit and fraud. If any of them were permitted, it would lead to allowing other forms of fraud. Additionally, it involves altering the natural creation, as indicated in the Hadīth of Ibn Mas‘ūd, where he stated: "those who alter the creation of Allah." And Allah knows best.
• An-Nawawi said: It is prohibited for both the doer and the one for whom it is done. The area that is tattooed becomes impure. If it is possible to remove it through treatment, it becomes obligatory to do so. However, if removal is only possible through cutting, and there is a fear of harm, impairment of a limb or its function, or causing severe damage to a visible part of the body, removal is not obligatory. If the person repents, there is no longer any sin upon him. If none of these risks are feared, it becomes obligatory to remove it, and delaying its removal is sinful. End quote.
