This Hadīth stated that if a hunter fires an arrow or something similar, and it hits the game but it disappears from his sight, if he finds it later without any trace of something causing its death other than his arrow, he may eat it unless it has reached the point of decay, thus becoming impure and harmful to human health.

• I went to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and asked: 'We live in the land of the People of the Book; can we eat in their plates?"
• If anyone keeps a dog that is neither for hunting nor for guarding livestock, their reward (for good deeds) will be reduced by two Qirāts per day.
• When you let loose your trained dog (after a game) and you mention the name of Allah, then eat what it catches for you
• We chased a rabbit at Marr Azh-Zhahrān. The people ran after it but they got tired.
