The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) tells that Allah, the Almighty, answers the invocations of His slave, so long as he does not supplicate for an act of disobedience or for severing kinship ties, and so long as he is not hasty. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the nature of haste that prevents the fulfillment of supplication. He explained that one complains that he supplicates repeatedly but gets no answer. Upon that, he thinks that his invocation is not going to be answered out of haste, so he stops asking Allah, the Almighty.

• None of you should say: O Allah, forgive me if You will, have mercy on me if You will, and grant me sustenance if You will. Let him be determined in his request, for indeed, He does what He wills; none can compel Him
• When one-third of the night had passed, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) would get up and call out: O people, remember Allah
• The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) liked comprehensive supplications and would leave aside anything else
• Verily, your Lord is Bashful and Munificent. He is too Bashful of His slave to let him go empty-handed when raising his hands to Him
