Suwayd ibn Muqarrin reports that he was one of seven siblings of the sons of Muqarrin, all of whom were Companions from the Muhajirūn, and no one resembled them in this number. There was no one to serve all seven but a single slave girl. The youngest of them slapped her on the cheek, so the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) ordered them to set her free from slavery so that her manumission would be an expiation for having slapped her.

• Whoever emancipates a share in a slave should completely emancipate him from his money, if he can afford it. Otherwise, a fair price should be set for the slave.
• When anyone of you beats his brother, he should avoid the face
• O people, verily Allah has removed the arrogance of jāhiliyyah from you and their boastfulness about their forefathers
• He who sets free a Muslim slave, Allah will deliver from the fire of Hell every part of his body in return for every part of the slave's body, even his private parts
