In this Hadīth, Yūsuf ibn ‘Abdullāh ibn Salām (may Allah be pleased with him) tells that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) was the one who named him Yūsuf, and he seated him on his lap. This Hadīth demonstrates the noble morals of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and his modesty and mercy with little children.

• Verily, Allah has made me a noble slave, not an obstinate tyrant
• A slave girl of Madīnah would take hold of the hand of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and would take him wherever she wished
• A child is held in pledge for his ‘Aqīqah which should be slaughtered on his behalf on the seventh day after his birth, and he should be given a name, and his head should be shaved
• If I am invited to a meal of a sheep's trotter or arm, I would accept the invitation
