Ibn Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I prayed one night with the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and he prolonged the standing for so long that I was I about to do something bad. It was asked: "What were you about to do?" He said: "I was about to sit down and leave him (standing)."

• I prayed with the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) one night and he started reciting Sūrat al-Baqarah
• The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) would visit the mosque of Qubā' riding or walking, then he would pray there two Rak‘ahs
• I memorized from the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ten Rak‘ahs (units of prayer)
• When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) missed prayer at night because of sickness or otherwise, he would pray twelve Rak‘ahs during the daytime
