Some of the Prophet's Companions talked about the luxuries of the worldly life. So he said to them: "Will you not listen", in order to urge them to listen to what he was going to say, and repeated this to emphasize its importance. Then he told them that observing modesty in one's clothes and adornment is a manner of the people of faith, and that faith is what motivates a person to be modest.

• None of you believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself
• Verily, a believer can attain, by his good manners, the rank of one who fasts and prays often
• Whoever protects the honor of his brother in his absence, Allah will protect his face from the Fire on the Day of Judgment
• A believer is not a slanderer, nor a curser, nor a person who speaks obscenely, nor a person who uses foul language
